ABOUT A COPYWRITER WHO WISHED HE WAS HIS ART DIRECTOR.
When I started out as a junior copywriter in advertising it didn’t take long before my love for words was overshadowed by a new found love for images. Being on set with talented photographers like Raf Coolen, Charlie De Keersmaecker, Bjorn Tagemose, Kris Van Beek, Evert Thiry, Frieke Janssens… I secretly envied my art director who - more than me - was responsible for the visual part of our creative ideas. I had Times New Roman, Helvetica Neue and Microsoft Word. They had Hasselblad, Kodak Ektachrome and Adobe. I bought a Nikon and enrolled for photography class… The camera caught me. I never leave home without one since.
